FAQ

What age are the Mindful Mantras books for?

The Mindful Mantras books are written for kids ages 4 to 8. That said, the mantras (positive affirmations) themselves work for any age! Plenty of parents have told me they needed “I can handle it” as much as their kids did. Younger siblings enjoy the stories too, and older kids still connect with the messages.

What order should I read the Mindful Mantras books in?

You can read them in any order. Each book stands on its own with its own mantra (or positive affirmation, to use a different name), so start with the one that matches what your child is dealing with right now. Worry, frustration, confidence, feeling left out. There’s no plot to follow between books.

How do I help my child with negative self-talk?

Start by noticing it out loud, without judgment: “I heard you say you can’t do it. That sounds frustrating.” Then give them a replacement phrase to practice, like “I can’t do it YET” or “I can handle it.” Kids don’t drop negative self-talk because we tell them to stop, they drop it when they have something better to say instead. That’s the whole idea behind the Mindful Mantras series: giving kids simple phrases they can actually use in the moment.

Are these books good for classrooms?

Absolutely! I wrote them as a kindergarten teacher, so the classroom was in my head the whole time. Teachers use them for morning meetings, calm-down corners, and social-emotional learning lessons. The mantras (positive affirmations) are short enough for the whole class to repeat together, which is honestly where they work best.

Where can I buy the books?

Right here on the site, ordering directly from my shop supports me the most. The books are also available on Amazon in paperback, audiobook and ebook versions.
